Cycle touring and cycling tours in Canada
In Canada, cycling opens contrasting territories where water often shapes the landscape. Between the shores of the St. Lawrence River, the Great Lakes and the Atlantic, itineraries favour quiet secondary roads, well-maintained bike paths and former railway lines converted into trails. You ride to the rhythm of the regions, between historic villages, renowned vineyards, fishing ports and coastal landscapes, with balanced stages that leave room for food stops and local discoveries.
Our Cycling Trips in Canada
Ontario – Prince Edward County and the Thousand Islands
Between Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, Prince Edward County is explored by bike along the wine route, in the heart of one of the country’s most dynamic wine regions. Peaceful roads cross Bloomfield, Wellington and Picton, run along the Bay of Quinte and lead toward Kingston and the Thousand Islands region. The Waterfront Trail accompanies several stages, while Sandbanks Provincial Park offers dunes and long beaches on the lake.
Ontario – Niagara Region
Between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, the route alternates bike paths and secondary roads along the Welland Canal, through Loyalist villages and along the banks of the Niagara River. The Niagara Parkway gradually leads to the famous falls, while Niagara-on-the-Lake offers the chance to discover one of Canada’s most renowned wine regions, especially known for its icewine.
Prince Edward Island
On this compact island, cycling follows the Confederation Trail, a former railway line transformed into a bike path, as well as quiet coastal roads. The crossing reveals red cliffs, national park beaches, fishing ports, and Acadian villages. From Charlottetown to the eastern tip, the itinerary alternates agricultural landscapes, maritime atmospheres and cultural heritage, including the Green Gables site.
Everywhere, the itineraries favour smooth riding and a variety of surfaces, mostly paved with some sections of compacted gravel that are easy to ride. The experience is built as much around cycling as around the territory: tastings in Ontario vineyards, microbreweries and local products, possible cruises in the Thousand Islands or pauses on coastal beaches. A balanced way to discover Canada by bike, between nature, culture and the pleasures of the road.
