Detailed itinerary

Tour profile :

Course mostly flat with some days including hills. Average mileage (between 20 km and 55 km). 90% of roads are paved. Travel adapted to cyclists with a minimum of experience and a good physical condition. Possibility of taking the bus for people who would like to shorten certain days.  

Day 1 : Individual arrival at Cala Blava

Day 2 : Cala Blava - Colonia San Jordi  (55 km, +220 m)

After a welcome address and introduction on which you get your travel documents, the bike tour takes you along the coast, past the Gothic church of Sa Torre to Capocorp Vell, the kingdom of Cyclops (remains of an original settlement), into the impressive swimming bay of Cala Pi. Majorcan wind wheels accompany us on our way to the shining-white beach of Es Trenc that sets itself apart from the turquoise Mediterranean Sea. At the end of the first stage you reach the fishing villige of Sa Colonia San Jordi with its glittering blue salt mountains  

Day 3 : Colonia San Jordi - Porto Cristo (60 km, +270 m)

Today you cycle through the Ses Salines to the biggest botanical garden in Europe. Visit to the picturesque bay near Cala Santany. Through small fishing villages to the famous nature bridge "Es Pontas". The Cuevas del Drach are located near Porto Cristo - one of Majorca‘s famous marvels, a fantastic stalactite cave.  

Day 4 : Porto Cristo - C'an Picafort (55 km, +310 m)

You cycle through the sleepy village of Son Carrio with the Gaudi village church Versade. To the next town of Manacor, famous for Majorcas-pearls. And on the Santa Margerita, the birthplace of Joan March (one of the richest Majorcans), then into the bay of Alcudia to C‘an Picafort.  

Day 5 : Alcudia Tour (loop of 45 km, +50 m)

Today, you will make a beautiful loop which will lead you towards the natural reserve of S'Albufera until the bay of Pollenca. A large part of S'Albufera de Mallorca (1,700 hectares) preserves all its natural characteristics intact; it is a privileged area of great environmental value. The bay of Pollenca is bathed by crystal clear waters. The old town of Pollença, located a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea, is of medieval origin. This city, which spreads out at the foot of the Puig mountains of Pollença and Calvari, knew how to preserve all its character.  

Day 6 : C'an Picafort - Port de Soller (45 km, +120 m)

Transfer by bus or day bike to Lluc Monastery. The site of the monastery of Lluc has taken on a religious dimension since the legend of 1229 alluding to the miraculous appearance of a statuette. In 1268, a chapel was erected and the place became Majorca's main pilgrimage site. Today, the monastery of Lluc is a huge religious center. You will be on the highest point of the island is 1200m of altitude. You then continue your day to the picturesque village of Fornalutx. Along the way, the orchards give way to the terraced cultivation of olive trees, the valley's main source of income in the 14th and 15th centuries. There are about 60 oil mills in the Soller area.  

 Day 7 : Port de Soller - Palma - Cala Blava (20 km, +30m)

A visit to the picturesque port of Soller, two beautiful beaches, lovely shops, a promenade by the sea and numerous hiking trails is a must. The best place to appreciate all the charm of the port is the lighthouse where you have to go up to the "mirador de Santa Catalina", above the village. Especially at sunset, there's nothing more romantic. It is obvious to imagine how difficult it was in the past to access the valley and the importance of maritime trade with France for the survival of the village. The old tramway linking the port to the village, a few kilometres inland, is ideal for combining sun and beach with culture. A city tour and a visit to the cathedral are planned during your visit to Palma. You can then take your bike back to Cala Blava along the coast.
