Route description: This 11-day route allows you to enjoy trips of 60 to 130 km per day. The route is 80% on shared roads and 20% on bicycle paths; always close to the waterways.

While vising Toronto why not get a little perspective from the top of CN Tower and try to spot the route you will be taking on the next day. Have lunch/dinner at the St-Lawrence Market or in the heart of Chinatown to strengthen yourself for your trip.

On your first day, you ride along Lake Ontario to enjoy a taste of seaside. You'll soon come across your first beaches; these will be with you throughout the day. However, nature lovers prefer to enjoy the impressive scenery of the Scarborough Cliffs.

Possible day off: Brighton is a beautiful city. Nearby is Presqu'ile Provincial Park, which offers a nature peninsula right on Lake Ontario. A great place to take a day off, should you feel like it.

After a good breakfast, or a day off, it's time to hit the road to explore Prince Edward County and its famous Sandbanks National Park. With over forty wineries, the region's most beautiful roads have been selected to allow you to discover the county's best wines. Take the wine route and explore the famous Sandbanks Provincial Park with its twenty-three kilometres of beach. Feel like taking a break, visiting artists, craftsmen and antique shops? Finish your day in the charming town of Picton, where you can walk the streets downtown to discover its shops and restaurants - and stretch your legs a bit!
Possible day off: To get the most out of Prince Edward County you can also add a day to cycle around the peninsula, lounge around on the beaches of Sandbanks, or cycle to the wineries.
Itinerary: 60 km
It's time to leave Prince Edward County for the Waterfront Trail, a marked route that guides you to the Quebec border. This well-known cycling route is designed with no major changes in elevation and enables you to cycle downstream and with the prevailing winds at your back. In short: a cycling dream. From Picton, take the ferry to Glenora to leave the peninsula. Back on the mainland, you ride along a road with little traffic, offering many panoramic views of the river and the first islands of the Thousand Islands National Park. The day ends in the beautiful city of Kingston with its many century-old houses that give it its special charm. In the mood for some upbeat museums? Take the evening, or a day off, to enjoy the many attractions including a visit to Fort Henry or a dinner cruise to enrich your evening.
Possible day off: Kingston is a charming city and busting with things to do. Canoe enthusiasts? Trade your bikes in for a canoe and spend the night on an island in the national park. An incredible experience to fully enjoy this uniquely charming environment.

As you are leaving Kingston, take the road - and ferries - to Howe Island for a short break to experience almost deserted roads before reaching Gananoque: a beautiful town in the heart of the Thousand Islands National Park. Gananoque also marks the beginning of the Thousand Island Parkway bike path, which runs along the St- Lawrence River and offers beautiful views of the park's islands and brings you all the way to Brockville.
Possible day off: Canoe enthusiasts? Take the time to stop a night in Gananoque and trade your bikes for a canoe and spend the night on an island in the national park. An incredible experience to fully enjoy this uniquely charming environment.

Looking for history? Take a kilometre detour to see the Battle of the Windmill Historic Site. Visit this old stone mill with its red roof that marks an important battle site in the war between the Americans and the British.
Foodies will enjoy a well-deserved break at the Windmill's brewery.

This unique road links eleven islands that bear witness to the past and reminds us that there are villages that were swallowed up by the river when the seaway was built.
